I guess I should have mentioned that in the last month or so I have also been to an airshow and got to climb and ride around in an M1A1 Abrams tank for a few hours, courtesy of the national guard and put on by my Eve Online alliance (Goonswarm).

The airshow was at Mountain Home AFB and the main event was the Thunderbirds. I brought along two of my youngest kids and my dad also was up in Idaho for a few days so he came along also.  Pictures are here.  The show was pretty good.  I have been to a good number of these so it wasn't something too amazing.  It was the first time for the kids though so hopefully they thought is was interesting.

A few weeks after that I took my older son to a national guard depot in Oregon (Umatilla Army Depot), where one of the guys in my EVE Online alliance put together an event where we could get inside and ride around in a tank for a few hours.  This was very fun and possibly one of those once in a lifetime events.  It was about a 12 hour drive and a 5 hour event, so it was a very long day but totally worth it.  There are some pictures and videos here and here.

I got new license plates the other day.  It was so exciting.  I guess it's kind of sad when the most exciting thing over the past few weeks is that I get new license plates for my car.  It's like those small towns that print on their front page stuff like "Man catches fish with two heads", or "Grandma Jones lost her false teeth while shopping for meatloaf this morning" because that is the most exciting thing that has happened.  It was exciting though.  I actually walked out to the mailbox almost every day checking for them.  Usually I only drive to the mailbox every few days.

I did download and install the Windows 10 preview yesterday.  It has some nice additions but is essentially Windows 8.2, correcting most of the things everyone but the most hardcore MS fanboys hated about it, the dreaded and forced down our throats metro UI.  May it die horribly in a thousand fires of moldy meatloaf.

I dont play The Sims, but these patch notes just sound creepy...

  • Fixed several issues where babies were incorrectly hibernating within household inventories resulting in several issues:
    • You can now exit Build Mode when not on your home lot if a baby was incorrectly left in the home lot inventory.
    • Game no longer hangs if you attempt to split a household with a baby on the lot and in the household inventory.
    • Splitting and merging households no longer results in unplayable households due to babies being left in household inventories.
    • Babies are no longer left locked in the household inventory if all the other Sims in the household die.
    • Babies no longer multiply if left in the Household Inventory while editing the lot via Manage Worlds.
